Under the auspices of the Association of Greek and Affiliated Panhellenic Interests, Symposium 2005 addressed issues in law and medicine in the pursuit of a just society with a wide ranging program developed in conjunction with our co-host, the Hellenic Association of the History, Sociology and Philosophy of Medical Sciences.

Our 2005 event was launched in Mykonos in the town of Agios Yiannis (Saint John) on 25 September 2005, which coincided with the Orthodox feast of St John celebrated on the same day.

Our venue was only a short walk from the town where our delegates were able to enjoy the delights of Greek culture, arts, food, wine, music and much, much more.

During the conference, as well as the local flavour, our delegates were able to partake in a stimulating and diverse program under the guidance of the Chair of our Papers Committee, Professor The Hon. George Hampel QC, in conjunction with our Greek organizing committee, including its chairman Dr Takis Vidalis and Professor Sypros Marketos.

The venue for Symposium 2005 was the magnificent Mykonos Grand Hotel and Resort on the popular Agios Yiannis beach in Mykonos, a luxury hotel and member of the group of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. The Hotel provided excellent conference facilities, with a wide range of recreational activities in superb surrounds overlooking the famed island of Delos.

Mykonos has a long and varied history as an integral part of the Cyclades Islands, a group of islands (including Delos, Tinos and Syros) that have had an important and pivotal role in the Mediterranean for more than three thousand years.
